Romancing Aamby Valley…

Holiday is a luxury in today’s busy world. I am glad that I got to take off for a staycation to Aamby Valley. It is a beautiful drive from Mumbai and I had a friend for company. Here are the moments from my recent trip that still make me feel WoW:

The meandering roads are clean and beautifully decorated with flowers along the walkways. In fact, during the mornings they are ideal for walking around and breathing fresh air.

The wooden architecture of the Aussie rooms have an old school charm about them. The view from the balcony is that of lush greenary and natural bliss surrounding them.

Food goes as per the mood for most of us and at Aamby Valley, getting spoilt for choice is pure pampering.

The welcome platter in my room had exotic chocolates, fruits and cookies for an instant pick-me-up feel.

You need to have a big appetite in order to enjoy the wide spread at the various restaurants across Aamby Valley. Apart from variety of cuisine, the ambiance and decor of each of the restaurants is a wow experience in themselves.

-Woodpecker is the 24 x 7 dinning place where we began with a sumptuous breakfast.

– Manuhaar is the classy Indian thali restaurant that offers authentic flavours from Gujrat and Rajasthan. So the lunch was a royal treat in itself.

– Namak has an exotic decor and a beautiful outdoor set up by the lake for enjoying candle light dinner.

Curry Coast has the exotic coastal cuisine from all over India.

Mabruk is certainly the most exotic of them all. This mediterranean restaurant has the best outdoor set up that transports you to the Arabic world instantly.

Seven Sports Bar is the spot to be in for sports enthusiats. It has the element of sports weaved into everything from the ambiance to the decor, drinks and food

You can do so many things while you are there. I tried horse ridding, playing golf and rock climbing for the first time in my life. These are perfect options that fit into your ‘me time’ as well as ‘we time’.

There is also a beautiful Spa to unwind and relax.

Even on holidays we end up keeping up to bus, train, flight timings. The best part about being in Aamby Valley is the feel of this independent city that gives a miss to all that rush. The internal transport takes the guests from point to point. The mode of transport varies from golf carts to toy trains to Mercedes Benz cabs.

So this weekend you might wish to enjoy the luxury of time at a luxury resort like Aamby Valley.
