For me, what makes a Fashion week fashionable are the people off the ramp. It is a given that the shows on the ramp are designed to perfection but I am curious to see how the attendees stand out with their personal style statements.
🤔 Missing the spunk
The biggest talking point of LFW this year was the face of the brand literally. While Kareena Kapoor Khan has been my all-time-favourite, this year she looked a bit drained. Given that she is still in her post pregnancy phase, even the golden makeup could not make her glitter at the grand finale.
The launch of argan oil lipsticks is not really trendsetting as vitamine E lip colours have been there for ages. Also the colours are not as different as blues and greens that MAC launched recently.
Jio garden being a new venue had mixed reactions from the crowd. While some loved the open air feel, greenary and the carnival decor, many found it tad bit humid to be under the sun all day. This year, Lakme Fashion Week was inspired by Liquid Gold. The sheen of glamour was spelt in the summer, resort collection.
My favourite looks were those of the showstoppers- Sonakshi Sinha, Bipasha Basu and Urvash Rautela. The reason why they stood out from the cowd I feel is because they put forward their personal style even in designer wear.
🎤 Over all view
The wow feel was missing from the current season of LFW for someone like me who has been to the Lakme Fashion Week for many seasons. So may be something more exciting needs to be showcased in the near future.
