Art of Eating Smart

While the festive season is officially over for now, the fun continues. On a weekend, you would get those cravings to eat out and re-live those recent holiday memories with friends and family. But at the same time, you would not wish to pile on fat unnecessarily, having got back to your usual routine. The challenge is to find a mid path?
Well I would suggest that while doing so, opt for a place that serves healthy food options.

I recently came across a place called Long & Short by the Queen’s Necklace, Mumbai. It is a premium Bistro and restaurant at the  Inter Continental Marine Drive.

A Japanese Treat🎎

It is interesting how there is a cultural tie to be discovered across countries. The human emotions remain the same and that becomes the binding factor. As a Pre-Diwali treat, I celebrated the Japanese Lantern Fiesta along with Piramal Realty. This cross-cultural collaboration as a part of The Aranya Festival, celebrates a wow lifestyle experience for those who have not visited Japan yet.

7 Bitter-Sweet Things about Chocolates…

If there is one thing that makes me happy instantly, it is chocolate. I can vouch that not only children but we adults too love this soul food!

There is always a debate that these sweet treats lead to weight gain and pimples. On International Chocolate Day, I had a tètè-a-tètè with Andaleeb Sahar Sayed, Executive Pastry Chef of The Lalit Mumbai, on the bitter sweet things about Chocolates.

5 ‘WoW’ reasons to be @Kebab Korner

exotic platter sweet takeaways exotic great view

#1 As far as the exotic recipes are concerned, they are from the legendary Chef Imtiaz Qureshi with a modern presentation by the sous chefs.
#2 While you are bound to get spoilt for choice, some of the ‘must-try’ dishes from the menu are –
Starter:
Kakori Kabab – the skewers of minced lamb are grilled on charcoal embers and will simply melt in your mouth.
Main course:
Khameeri roti – is soft bread cooked in clay oven and topped with exotic saffron.
Safed murgh supreme – has strips of tender chicken tossed up in mild spiced cream and yellow chili gravy.
Desserts:
Jalebi pearls as the name suggests, the caviar of jalebi are worth savouring with royal rabri by the side.
#3 The view of Marine Drive is completely breath-taking! You would want to sit by the huge glass windows overlooking the Arabian Sea and get mesmerized.
#4 While the décor is classy, the ambiance is warm and welcoming.
#5 It is a place ideal for a traditional, sit-down family buffet but you can also enjoy some couple time or ‘me-time’ there as well.

Sovaor the flavor

It is just Tuesday, but your heart is longing to get to the weekend… For an instant ‘pick-me-up’ feel, go out for dinner post work?

Try savoring the flavors from across the world with mouth-watering cuisines from Spain, Peru, Thailand and beyond for a happy change!
‘Hungry Bird’ in Seven Bunglows, Andheri West, was my ‘Wow’ food find last week and I do not mind going back for more this evening!

Here are the lip-smacking, mood boosters from the exotic platter that you must indulge in:

#Papas ala diabla
Chunks of fried potato tossed with cream, cheese, chipotle and black pepper

#Huevo cabreados
Spanish way of fried egg and shoestring fries, served with aioli and spicy tomato salsa

#Anticuchos de pollo
Peruvian chicken skewers marinated with olive oil and amazing garnishing

Though a small eating joint, what makes it ‘WoW’ is the fact that the food is served with love!

Detox Monday Blues

Weekends are meant for indulgence and I can never give a miss to the yummy treats over the 2 ‘wow’ days. But come Monday I want to fit back into my clothes and schedule. So here’s how to bounce back to your fitness regime on the first day of the week. Here’s how I do it.

Take a try and feel wow:

# Yes it seems impossible to wakeup on Monday mornings, but obey the alarm. It will help you to fix the rest of your day, trust me!

# Don’t give a miss to breakfast or indulge in the left-overs from the weekend party. Eat a healthy meal first thing in the day and say ‘Hi’ to oats, milk and fruits may be?

# Offload the ‘weekend calories overload’  and hit the gym. You can burn off those that you indulged in and feel less guilty right away!

# Say cheers with green tea and may be a single cup of coffee today.

# Have an early dinner and keep it a healthy one too! Salads and soups can befriend you this evening…
